My island
I was born and raised in Corfu, Greece. This island has a special place in my heart.
Family, culture, nature and so much more. So much to get inspired by. Going there as much as I can is crucial. Every time I go there I try to take Corfu back with me. With photos, drawings and hard acquired shells. This piece of me is the reason I am so interested in culture, this comes back in a lot of my work. An attempt to capture the beauty of this island, a photo series.Tiny humans going for a cold winter swim the day the sun comes out.A baffled cat chilling in one of the stone walls in Corfu town.An old man hiding in the back of the path thinking he is invisible behind all the fruit screaming in vibrant tones.A striking blue sky being an excellent background for the radiant colours manifesting as old buildings of Corfu town.Just as I used to march with my clasmates when I was little so do my cousins now. A childhood memory unfolding in front of my eyes. The “Day of No” celebrated in a small village in Greece.
I wish I could show you the inside of this colossal church. Conflicting everything you see from the external sand coloured construction.
